Guided tour in Pontevedra

Pontevedra, whose name comes from the Latin and means "old bridge" is one of the jewels of the Camino de Santiago Portugués. City that, it is believed, was founded by one of the heroes of the Trojan War when he was banished by his father.       So far, the archaeological remains show no occupation of the area until the arrival of the Roman Empire.

It is estimated that its born was produced during the conquest of "Gallaecia" (Galicia) and, as corroboration of this, appears a pillar in the southern head of the Bridge of Burgo as a tribute to the Emperor Hadrian dated from 137.

Currently, it is one of the most comfortable cities to live in the world according to the “UN-HABITAT prizes” thanks to its pedestrian zones, bike lanes and the difficult task of recovering the heritage they are carrying out.
